Fightin’ Texas Aggie Band

Known for its precision military marching formations on the football field, the Fightin’ Texas Aggie Band is the nation’s largest military marching band. The Aggie Band not only performs at all home football games, but also several away games, parades and events. The Aggie Band stands as a symbol of pride and unity embodying the spirit and traditions that Texas A&M University upholds. Supporting the Aggie Band through operational funds and scholarships for its members is fundamental to preserving its legacy of musical excellence and tradition.

Institute for Early Childhood Development and Education

Announced in March 2023, the Institute for Early Childhood Development and Education in the School of Education and Human Development is addressing the pressing need for solutions-focused research for children from prenatal stages to age 8. Faculty leaders envision the institute becoming a premier hub for researchers, practitioners, students and policymakers dedicated to elevating early childhood programs and policies. Groundbreaking research initiatives will transform young children’s and caregivers’ lives and offer Aggies unique opportunities for community-based learning and teaching experiences.

Help support this institute as its students, faculty and staff forge partnerships, conduct transformative research, and disseminate innovative practices to enhance the quality of early childhood education and foster strong collaborations within the university and across Texas.

Oceanography Undergraduate Cruise

The annual Schade Cruise in the Department of Oceanography is a five-day research experience conducted in the Gulf of Mexico. Up to 14 students and two faculty participate each summer to undertake science experiments and provide would-be oceanographers with a taste of the profession. The cruise is supported with gifts from Hal Schade ’67, who utilizes his IRA distributions each year to underwrite the unique learning opportunity. Your support can further amplify the cruise’s offerings, fund additional scholarship opportunities for oceanography students or advance other high-impact learning programs in the department.

Parsons Mounted Cavalry

Parsons Mounted Cavalry, Texas A&M University’s esteemed horse cavalry unit, is the nation’s only collegiate mounted cavalry unit. Military horse training is used to teach cadets self-discipline, confidence, leadership and decision-making while also preserving tradition. For the last 50 years, the cavalry has been striving to represent the university with dignity and be a visible example of excellence.
