Aggieland is alive with the sound of music—thanks in no small part to MSC Town Hall. Since 1951, the student organization has coordinated and presented campus concerts and other performances for Aggies to enjoy.
A committee of the Memorial Student Center Council, the organization hosts 20-30 events per year, from its Coffeehouse student showcases to larger events featuring local Texas bands and national up-and-coming artists that satisfy the unique musical tastes of Texas A&M students. “We’ve got something for everyone,” said Megan Fifer ’25, who served as the group’s advertising, marketing and promotions executive. “We want to help people have a good time and give students unforgettable experiences.”
Events are student-run, meaning its members are involved throughout the process, including searching for new talent, negotiating contracts, promoting shows and running sound equipment for each performer’s style. “We cater to our members’ interests and help them develop their skills,” said Charlie Robertson ’26, last year’s Town Hall chair. “Everyone’s so passionate about seeing these events come to life.”
Another big goal is making performances affordable—primarily free—for students. But with rising concert costs and shifting sources of funding, Town Hall needs help to continue offering students the entertainment they love. “We want to connect with former students who are passionate about making events like this happen on campus,” Robertson said. “We’re making memories for people, and we want that to continue being accessible to students for years to come.”
