Rev. Dr. Leonora Montgomery has three degrees, four children, 12 grandchildren and one car with a bumper sticker that reads, “If you think education is expensive, try ignorance!” She also turned 99 in January.

Somehow, the almost-centenarian’s age is one of the least impressive things about her, and she agrees. “When you get old enough, people start congratulating you for being alive,” she laughed.

But, while Leonora may not think it impressive to have lived 99 years, it is what she’s done within those 99 years that is truly noteworthy—and it’s the reason her children chose to celebrate her life by adding a cash gift to an endowment her husband put in motion in Aggieland years ago.
