Beyond his business responsibilities, Caldwell brings a longstanding commitment to Texas A&M and community service. He and his wife, Susan ’82, have supported numerous university initiatives, including the Business Education Complex expansion at Mays Business School and scholarships for students through the Texas A&M Foundation.
“Susan and I want to invest in places and people where we see lasting impact,” Caldwell said. “Texas A&M continues to develop leaders of character who strive to serve others with excellence and integrity. We believe God has entrusted us with resources to steward wisely, and supporting Texas A&M is one way we seek to do that.”
In addition to serving on the Mays Business School Dean’s Advisory Board, Caldwell has served on the Texas A&M 12th Man Foundation Board of Trustees, the Lone Star College Foundation and the Cy-Fair Educational Foundation. He also recently completed an 11-year term as chairman of JH Ranch International and Everlasting Adventures. In 2018, he was recognized as a Distinguished Alumnus of Mays Business School, and he is a member of the Texas A&M Foundation Legacy Society.
“Fred Caldwell is one of the most phenomenal leaders that I have ever had the privilege to work with,” said Wayne Roberts ’85, the Foundation’s interim president and CEO. “He models the Aggie core values in his professional and personal life and demonstrates remarkable stewardship wherever he has been involved. I am thrilled he is joining our board and can’t wait to work with him and Susan.”
For Caldwell, service begins with listening and learning. “My first responsibility is to understand the Foundation’s priorities and where I can best contribute,” he said. “Texas A&M has a truly unique culture rooted in leadership, excellence and selfless service. I’m grateful for the opportunity to work alongside the Foundation’s trustees and staff as we help ensure future generations of Aggies experience the same life-changing opportunities that have meant so much to our family.”
