The Office of Gift Planning is hosting Women, Wealth & Wisdom on May 19 for the sixth year. As many as 9 out of 10 women will be responsible for financial decisions at some point in their life, so the event aims to empower women with financial knowledge for all stages of life. Women, Wealth & Wisdom is proud of the speakers we have hosted over the last six years. All of our past sessions are available on our YouTube channel. Learn more about some of our past speakers from Women, Wealth & Wisdom.

Karen Walrond was the keynote speaker in 2016. A Houston-based lawyer, speaker, author and photographer, this 1988 graduate of Texas A&M University is well-known for her website Chookooloonks. She shared ideas from her bestselling book, The Beauty of Different, a celebration of the many ways we are all unique. Read more about her in our follow-up story, "Looking for the Light."

April Hampton-Perez is the senior director of gift planning at Southwestern University and joined Women, Wealth & Wisdom in 2013. She discussed charitable gift options and the rewards associated with charitable giving. Find out more about her session in "A Lesson in Philanthropy."
